Runs all night for less than a nickel

A 130 watt fan on high costs about two cents an hour. Central air costs roughly twenty-five times more, which is the difference between sleeping cool and dreading the bill.

Metal, not plastic

All-metal housings, blades and grilles on our workhorse fans stand up to garages, gyms and years of daily summer duty.

One for every room

Window fans flush trapped heat out at night, tower and stand fans quietly sweep whole bedrooms, clip fans cool your desk.

Pick the right fan

Will it be quiet enough to sleep next to?

That depends on which kind you pick, and it is worth getting right. The all-metal high-velocity fans trade quiet for airflow, which suits garages, gyms and daytime rooms but not a bedside table. For sleeping, choose an oscillating stand or tower fan and run it on its lowest speed, or a small desk fan aimed across the bed rather than at it. Every stand and tower fan here has a genuine low setting made for overnight use.

Bedrooms, desks and small corners?

Choose an oscillating stand fan for a bedroom, running it on low overnight for steady, quiet air. At a desk or bedside table, a compact or clip-on fan cools you without taking any space. Oscillation matters more than blade size in a small room, because sweeping air feels cooler than a constant blast at one spot.

Big spaces and hot garages?

Reach for the all-metal floor fans. A 20 inch blade on high moves enough air to keep a garage, gym or workshop workable through July, and the metal build shrugs off rough use. As a rule of thumb, the bigger the blade the further the air throws, so pick by the distance you need to cover rather than the square footage.

Cooling a whole room or house?

Set a twin window fan to exhaust on hot evenings, then reverse it to pull cool night air in. Paired with an open window across the house, it flushes out the day's trapped heat. This is the closest a fan gets to replacing air conditioning outright, and it costs a fraction of a cent per hour to do it.

Common questions, straight answers

Will a fan really replace air conditioning?

A fan cools you, not the thermometer, by moving air across your skin, and that difference can feel like several degrees. On dry evenings, a reversed window fan also pulls in cooler outdoor air. Most customers run fans all day and save the AC for the worst stretches, which is where the savings come from.

How fast will my fan arrive?

Orders are processed within two business days and ship with tracking by UPS, FedEx or USPS across the 48 contiguous states. You will get a tracking number by email as soon as it ships.

What if it arrives damaged or is not right?

You have 30 days from delivery to return or exchange. If an item shows up damaged, defective or wrong, we send a prepaid return label and make it right at no cost to you.

Do the metal fans need assembly?

The floor and stand fans need a few minutes with the included assembly hardware, attaching the base and front grille. The window, desk, table and clip on fans work straight out of the box.

How loud are high velocity fans?

The all metal workhorses trade some quiet for airflow, which suits garages, gyms and daytime rooms. For bedrooms and offices, the stand, desk and clip on fans run on low speeds made for sleeping.
