The Optimus F-4208 is built like the shop tool it is. An all-metal frame, a heavy-duty aluminum 20-inch blade, and a high-torque 120-watt motor combine to throw a serious high-velocity stream across garages, warehouses, and workspaces. Oscillation sweeps a 75-degree arc for wide coverage, while three speeds and a tilting head put the airflow exactly where you need it.
Here is what to know before it arrives:
Is this fan really all metal?
Yes. The F-4208 uses an all-metal frame with a heavy-duty aluminum blade and a reinforced chrome wire grille, built for demanding shop and garage use.
Does it oscillate?
Yes. The head sweeps a 75-degree arc to spread airflow across a wide area. You can switch oscillation off to hold the air in one direction.
How powerful is it?
A 120-watt high-torque motor drives a strong high-velocity stream, making it well suited to garages, warehouses, and large workspaces.
Is it safe to run in a busy shop?
Yes. It is ETL listed, uses a 3-prong grounded plug, and has a reinforced metal grille and a stable, weighted base.
Optimus builds practical, hard-working fans and heaters that earn their keep, and the F-4208 is one of its toughest. This is a true industrial-grade fan: all-metal, high-torque, and ETL listed for safe, heavy-duty use. A weak fan leaves half the garage stifling. A 120-watt high-torque motor throws a strong high-velocity stream far across the room, so even the back corner gets moving air.
A fixed blast only helps one spot. The head sweeps a 75-degree arc to spread cool air across the whole work zone, and locks to aim straight when you need a steady blast.
A plastic fan flexes and struggles in a shop. This all-metal industrial fan drives a stronger high-velocity stream and stands up to heavy, everyday garage use.
A fixed shop fan cools one lane. This one oscillates across a 75-degree arc, spreading strong airflow over the whole work area instead of a single spot.
A small floor fan cannot fill a large space. A 20-inch aluminum blade on a 120-watt motor moves a high volume of air across a garage, warehouse, or gym.

Excellent fan!
This fan generates some seriously cool air. Most fans only circulate hot air. This fan actually cools the air down & circulates it powerfully. Great buy.
Perfect for my garage
I only wish I had bought this years ago. I have it sitting up on top of my freezer in the garage. I have included a picture of this fan next to a standard 20" box fan for size comparison. It is all metal except for the control box which is a heavier plastic. It comes pre-assembled except for the metal legs which have rubberized plastic feet. The legs attach to the circular frame via screws which become your adjustment points for positioning the fan up or down or in between and yes it will point straight up if you want. There is a rotary control dial on the plastic control box up top which allows you to choose OFF-1-2-3 and to the left of that is an on/off rocker switch for the oscillation feature. I will post a follow up review after I've used this for awhile to see how this fan holds up over time. The only thing I was surprised at was the shipping. The fan and legs were in a thin sheer plastic bag material and this was shipped in a fairly thin cardboard box. I would think the addition of bubble wrap instead of a bag, or a thicker cardboard would be advisable (or even something protecting the plastic control unit) but that being said there was no damage to my unit. I live in California and that's where the item shipped from as well. I am very impressed so far with this fan, my only regret is not having purchased it sooner!
