Gibson Home Barnsdall 7-Piece Ceramic Non-Stick Aluminum Cookware Set - Linen, PTFE and PFOA-Free with Kitchen Tools
Gibson Home Barnsdall 7-Piece Ceramic Non-Stick Aluminum Cookware Set - Linen
At a Glance
- What it is: A 7-piece forged-aluminium cookware set with a ceramic non-stick interior, in a soft linen colourway.
- Contents: 2 qt saucepan with lid, 5 qt Dutch oven with lid, 9.5-inch frying pan, plus a nylon turner and a nylon spoon.
- Coating: Ceramic non-stick, made WITHOUT PFOA, PTFE, lead or cadmium.
- Cooktops: Gas, electric, halogen and induction.
- Handles: Soft-touch Bakelite, riveted, with flame guards.
- ⚠ Before you buy: Oven safe to 300 degrees F only (lids to 350 degrees F). That is a low ceiling - no broiling, no high-heat roasting. And it is NOT microwave safe.
The reason people move to ceramic non-stick is that they want the release of a non-stick pan without the PTFE, and Barnsdall is exactly that: a ceramic interior made without PFOA, PTFE, lead or cadmium, over a forged aluminium body that heats fast and evenly. Seven pieces covers the everyday - a saucepan, a Dutch oven, a frying pan and the two tools that will not scratch them.
Key Features
- Ceramic non-stick, made without PTFE or PFOA. Gibson's own claim, verbatim: made without PFOA, PTFE, lead or cadmium.
- Forged aluminium body. Heats fast and evenly, and it is far lighter than cast iron.
- Induction compatible. Gas, electric, halogen and induction - all four.
- Soft-touch Bakelite handles. Riveted, with flame guards to protect your hand from the burner.
- Nylon tools included. A turner and a spoon that will not damage the ceramic - the two utensils you actually need.
- A real starter set. A 2 qt saucepan, a 5 qt Dutch oven and a 9.5-inch fry pan covers most of what a small household cooks.
- Gift boxed. Presentable straight out of the carton.
Before You Buy
- Oven safe to 300 degrees F, lids to 350 degrees F. That is genuinely low. This is a stovetop set that can finish a dish in a warm oven, not a roasting set. No broiling.
- Not microwave safe. It is metal cookware. Never put it in a microwave.
- Made without PFOA and PTFE - that is NOT the same as PFAS-free. Gibson's claim is PFOA-free and PTFE-free. That is not the same as PFAS-free.
- Never use metal utensils. Ceramic coatings are hard but brittle. Use the included nylon tools, or wood or silicone.
- It is a 7-piece, not a shrunken 10-piece. There is no 8-inch fry pan and no small saucepan - those are in the 10-piece set.

Frequently Asked Questions▼
Is it induction compatible?
Yes. Gibson rates the line for gas, electric, halogen and induction.
How hot can it go in the oven?
300 degrees F for the pans, 350 degrees F for the lids. Do not broil in it.
Is the coating PFAS-free?
Gibson's claim is that it is made without PFOA, PTFE, lead or cadmium. That is not the same as a PFAS-free claim.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
Yes, it is dishwasher safe - but hand washing will keep the ceramic coating performing far longer.
Can I use metal utensils?
No. Nylon, wood or silicone. The set includes two nylon tools for that reason.
Is it microwave safe?
No. It is metal cookware.
Care & Use▼
- Hand wash with a soft sponge and warm soapy water, even though the set is dishwasher safe.
- Use only nylon, wood or silicone utensils.
- Cook on low to medium heat - ceramic non-stick does not need or want high heat, and high heat shortens its life.
- Never use aerosol cooking sprays - they leave a residue that ruins any non-stick surface.
- Let pans cool before washing; do not plunge a hot pan into cold water.
- Oven to 300 degrees F only. Never microwave.
Why Choose Gibson?▼
Gibson has been in the American tabletop business for over a century, and it is one of the very few dinnerware makers that publishes proper Use & Care guidance per material - stoneware, bone china, carbon steel, ceramic non-stick - rather than a single vague care card.
Gibson Home is the everyday line and Gibson Elite is the design-led one. Both are built for real kitchens: stackable, replaceable, and priced so that a chipped plate is an annoyance rather than a tragedy.
