At a Glance

  • 1 channel: a single button for one gate, door, or opener
  • MegaCode at 318 MHz: works with Linear MegaCode access receivers and controllers
  • Block coded: factory set in sequential ID blocks for quick enrollment
  • Batteries included: two 2016 lithium coin cells, rated for about five years
  • Quick-disconnect ring: snaps off the key ring when you hand off the car

Fumbling for a visor remote or punching a code at the gate gets old fast. The Linear ACT-31B is a one-button key ring transmitter that rides with your keys and signals a Linear MegaCode receiver at 318 MHz. Each remote is factory block coded, so a property manager can enroll a whole run of remotes by entering the first and last ID, not one at a time. Two 2016 batteries come installed, and a quick-disconnect ring lets it come off the key chain in a second.

Key Features

  • Single-button control: one channel keeps it simple for one gate, door, or operator.
  • MegaCode format: factory programmed with one of more than 1 million unique codes.
  • Factory block coding: sequential IDs let a site enroll a block of remotes by its first and last codes.
  • 318 MHz signal: matches Linear MegaCode access receivers and controllers.
  • Long battery life: two 2016 cells are rated for about five years of service.
  • Pocket size: about 1.25 in W x 2.25 in H x 0.48 in D with a quick-disconnect key ring.

What's Included

In the box: one ACT-31B 1-channel key ring transmitter with a quick-disconnect key ring and two 2016 lithium batteries installed.

Before You Buy

  • It only talks to Linear MegaCode 318 MHz receivers. Check your gate operator, garage opener, or access controller for a Linear MegaCode receiver. It will not run openers built on other brands' remote systems.
  • Someone has to enroll it. The remote must be added to the receiver or controller, usually by the property manager or gate installer, before it opens anything.
  • One button, one function. If you need to run a gate and a garage door from the same remote, choose a multi-channel transmitter.

Perfect For

  • Gated communities and apartment complexes on Linear MegaCode
  • Commercial gates and parking lots
  • Replacing a lost or worn key ring remote
  • Property managers adding a block of new residents

Care & Use

  • Have your property manager or installer enroll the remote with the receiver before use.
  • When the range starts to drop, replace both 2016 coin cells at the same time.
  • Keep the remote dry and away from extreme heat, such as a dashboard in summer.
  • Keep coin batteries away from children and pets.

Why a key ring remote beats the visor clip

Always with your keys

It rides on your key chain, so it travels between cars, bikes, and walking trips instead of staying clipped to one visor. A quick-disconnect ring lets it come off fast at the valet.

Fast to enroll

Factory block coding gives each remote a sequential ID. A manager adds an entire block by entering the first and last code, so new residents are set up without programming remotes one by one.

Set and forget power

Two 2016 coin cells come installed and are rated for about five years of service, so the remote keeps working season after season before it needs a quick battery swap.

Is a key ring remote right for you?

vs. a visor remote

A visor remote stays in one car. The ACT-31B goes wherever your keys go, including a second car or a bike.

vs. a gate keypad code

Typing a code means stopping and reaching out the window. One press from the driver's seat starts the gate early.

vs. a universal remote

Universal remotes need setup and may not support MegaCode. The ACT-31B is native to Linear MegaCode receivers.

Fits on your key ring

Smaller than most car fobs, so it adds almost nothing to your pocket.

FAQs

Common questions that customers ask

Will the Linear ACT-31B work with my gate or garage opener?

It works with Linear MegaCode access receivers and controllers at 318 MHz. If your gate or opener uses a different remote system, it will not respond.

How do I program the ACT-31B?

It is enrolled at the receiver or access controller, not on the remote. Block-coded remotes are added by entering the first and last ID of the block, usually by the property manager or installer.

What batteries does it use?

Two 2016 lithium coin cells, which come installed and are rated for about five years of service.

What does block coded mean?

The remotes are factory programmed in sequential ID runs, so a whole box can be enrolled at once instead of one remote at a time.

How fast will it ship and can I return it?

Orders ship to the 48 contiguous states and process within 2 business days. If it is not right, you have 30 days from delivery to return unused items in the original packaging.
