Code entry that stays readable at night and holds up at the gate post

At a Glance

  • 500 user codes: codes from 1 to 10 digits, added and deleted at the keypad
  • Backlit hardened keys: lit keys for entry in the dark, with sounder and LED feedback
  • Indoor or outdoor: flush mount in a single-gang box; outdoors needs a weatherproof box
  • Two Form C relays: main and auxiliary relays rated 2 A at 30 VDC
  • UL 294 listed: listed for access control use

A keypad by the gate or the back door has to work in the rain, in the cold, and at 11 p.m. The Linear 2000e Door Gard keypad answers with backlit hardened keys, room for 500 user codes, and two Form C relays that can release a strike, a maglock, or a gate operator's open input. A red and green LED shows relay status, and a built-in sounder confirms each press. It mounts flush in a single-gang box, indoors or out, and is UL 294 listed. It is a wired access control part that calls for a qualified installer.

Key Features

  • 500 users, 1 to 10 digit codes: enough room for a full apartment building or a busy commercial door.
  • Backlit hardened keys: lit, durable keys make codes easy to enter after dark and stand up to daily use.
  • Two Form C relays: a main and an auxiliary relay, each rated 2 A at 30 VDC, for a lock plus a second function.
  • Clear feedback: a sounder and yellow LED confirm each key press, and a red and green LED shows relay status.
  • Inputs for exit and door position: connections for a request-to-exit button and a door position switch.
  • Indoor or outdoor duty: rated for exterior installs when set in a weatherproof back box sealed with silicone.

What's Included

In the box: the 2000e keypad, a wiring harness, two security screws, and the installation and programming manual.

Before You Buy

  • It is not a standalone lock. The 2000e needs its own low-voltage supply (12-24 VAC or 10-30 VDC) and a lock or operator to control, such as an electric strike, maglock, or gate operator input. Plan on professional installation.
  • Outdoor mounting needs a weatherproof back box. For an exterior wall or gate post, set it in a weatherproof single-gang box and seal it with silicone. The back box is sold separately.
  • Wire runs have length limits. Use shielded stranded cable: about 250 ft at 22 AWG, 500 ft at 20 AWG, or 1,000 ft at 18 AWG.

Perfect For

  • Driveway or community gate entry posts
  • Apartment and condo building entrances
  • Commercial rear and employee doors
  • Installers upgrading an older keypad to a backlit model
  • Gated parking and storage lots

Care & Use

  • Have a qualified access control or gate installer wire and program the keypad.
  • Outdoors, mount in a weatherproof back box and seal the faceplate edge with silicone.
  • Change the master code from the factory default and keep a secure record of it.
  • Clean the keys with a damp cloth; avoid pressure washers and harsh solvents.

Why the 2000e earns a spot by the gate

Easy to use after dark

Backlit hardened keys glow so residents and staff can punch in a code at night without a flashlight, and a sounder plus LED confirm every press before the lock or gate releases.

Two relays, two jobs

The main relay releases the strike, maglock, or gate operator while the auxiliary relay can run a light, a second door, or an alarm shunt, each one rated 2 A at 30 VDC.

Built for a big roster

With room for 500 codes of 1 to 10 digits, one keypad can serve a whole building or a community gate, and any single code can be removed without touching the rest.

Why choose a wired backlit keypad?

vs. a wireless gate keypad

Wireless keypads depend on batteries and a radio link. The 2000e is hardwired to power and the lock, so there is no signal to drop or battery to swap.

vs. an unlit keypad

Plain keys are hard to read at night. Backlit keys make code entry quick in the dark at a gate or rear door.

vs. a single-relay keypad

One relay runs one device. Two Form C relays let the 2000e release the lock and handle a second task such as lighting.

Fits a single-gang box

Back box
Standard single-gang box (weatherproof box outdoors)
  • About the size of a light switch plate, so it fits on most gate posts and door frames that take a single-gang box.
  • Outdoor installs need a weatherproof back box, so measure the post for that box rather than the keypad alone.

FAQs

Common questions that customers ask

Can the Linear 2000e be installed outdoors?

Yes. It is rated for indoor or outdoor use. Outdoors, mount it in a weatherproof single-gang back box sealed with silicone.

Will the 2000e open my gate?

It opens a gate when wired to the gate operator's open input. The relay closes on a valid code; the operator does the work. It needs its own 12-24 VAC or 10-30 VDC supply.

How many codes does it hold?

Up to 500 user codes, each 1 to 10 digits long, programmed at the keypad with the master code.

Is the 2000e UL listed?

Yes. Linear lists the 2000e as UL 294 listed for access control.

How fast will it ship and can I return it?

Orders ship to the 48 contiguous states and process within 2 business days. If it is not right, you have 30 days from delivery to return unused items in the original packaging.
