Brentwood Select MG-1800S Cast Aluminum Electric Meat Grinder and Sausage Stuffer

At a Glance

  • What it is: A heavy 12 lb cast-aluminium electric meat grinder that also stuffs sausage and shapes kubbe
  • Key spec: 1,800 peak watts / 700 watts continuous, and it moves 4 lb of meat per minute
  • The differentiator: Three stainless cutting plates - fine, normal and coarse - so you control the grind instead of accepting it
  • Build: Cast aluminium body with an all-metal auger and food-grade stainless blades
  • Warranty: 1 year
  • ⚠ Before you buy: The body is CAST ALUMINIUM, not stainless steel - several retail listings say stainless. It is aluminium, and it is hand wash only.

Brentwood Select's MG-1800S is twelve pounds of cast aluminium, and the weight is the point: a grinder that walks across the counter is a grinder you stop using. This one sits still and moves four pounds of meat a minute through an all-metal auger and a food-grade stainless blade. Three cutting plates let you take a chuck roast to a coarse chili grind or a fine burger grind. Fit the stuffer tube and you are making sausage; fit the kubbe cone and you are making kibbeh.

Key Features

  • Grinds 4 lb per minute: This is a real grinder, not a novelty attachment. A whole chuck roast goes through in minutes
  • Three stainless cutting plates: Fine, normal and coarse. Coarse for chili, fine for sausage and burgers
  • Sausage stuffer tube included: Grind and stuff in one session, with no second machine
  • Kubbe attachment included: Shapes hollow kibbe/kubbe cases - a genuinely uncommon inclusion at this price
  • Cast aluminium body, all-metal auger: 12 pounds of mass that stays put when the meat gets tough
  • Reverse function and a large hopper tray: Clear a jam without disassembling, and load more meat between passes
  • 1-year warranty: Published at retail

Before You Buy

The honest limits, so this arrives as the product you pictured.

  • It is CAST ALUMINIUM, not stainless steel: Amazon and several other listings call the body stainless. It is not - Brentwood says cast aluminium, with stainless blades and plates. Aluminium is why it costs what it costs
  • "1,800 watts" is the PEAK figure: Continuous power is 700 watts. That is plenty for 4 lb a minute, but if you are comparing it against a grinder that quotes 1,800W continuous, you are not comparing like with like
  • Hand wash only, and there are about eight pieces: Polished aluminium and a dishwasher do not get along. Wash the parts in the sink and dry them straight away, or the aluminium will dull
  • Freeze the meat and the parts for 20 minutes first: Every meat grinder works better cold. Semi-frozen meat cuts instead of smearing

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the body stainless steel?
No. It is cast aluminium. The cutting blades and plates are food-grade stainless. Some retail listings say the body is stainless - that is wrong, and Brentwood's own specification is what we publish.

Is it really 1,800 watts?
1,800 watts is the peak rating. Continuous output is 700 watts, which is what drives the 4 lb-per-minute throughput.

Can I put the parts in the dishwasher?
No. Hand wash the auger, plates, blade and attachments and dry them immediately - polished aluminium will dull and pit in a dishwasher.

Can it stuff sausage?
Yes. The sausage stuffer tube is included, so you can grind and stuff in the same session. A kubbe cone is included too.

How do I stop the meat smearing?
Chill everything. Twenty minutes in the freezer for the meat AND for the auger, blade and plate, and the grinder cuts cleanly instead of pushing paste.

Care & Use
  • Chill the meat and the metal parts for 20 minutes before grinding.
  • Unplug before disassembly.
  • Hand wash all removable parts in warm soapy water and dry immediately - never in the dishwasher.
  • Wipe the cast aluminium body with a damp cloth. Never immerse it.
  • Lightly oil the plates and blade before storage to prevent oxidation.
