• The 10-cup figure is cooked rice. This cooker holds 5 cups of dry rice, which yields about 10 cups cooked; a cooker sold as 10 cups uncooked holds twice as much dry rice, so size up for a large family.
• The pot and accessories are hand wash. The non-stick inner pot, steam tray, spatula, and cup are not dishwasher safe, and metal utensils will scratch the coating.
• It runs at 400 watts and is not a pressure cooker. Cycles take the normal time for a rice cooker, so the delay timer, not raw speed, is what makes weeknight timing work.
• Saute is for browning, not deep frying. The 355°F setting is meant to sear aromatics and meat in a thin layer of oil before a cook cycle, not to shallow-fry a full dinner.
