Don't Buy the Red; Paint Peels
This kettle has held up and works well. To be honest, it took me a bit the first time to figure out how to pour the water out. I needed to pull the end whistler piece off. I was so used to the push button to lift the whistler. No biggy. But almost immediately I started to notice the paint getting chipped. I would leave this on the stove, like I think most people do. As my teens cook, I'm sure the pots and pans bang against it at times. Something was happening because I kept seeing places where the paint was chipped away. This last time, as I washed the outside with hot water, I noticed the paint PEELING away. I worked at it and now my pot is almost completely silver! Just a bit of red pain around the handles I need to remove yet. It's sturdy and it works, but just don't get a painted version. Bonus: the MAX FILL line was etched into the kettle, so that is still readable after the paint was removed.

Perfect tea pot!
My girlfriend loves her tea kettle!! She has used it 10 times since I bought it which has only been 5 days and she does not have any problems with it. I read reviews about it chipping after the second or third use and that has not happened to the tea kettle yet. The handle has not gotten hot, it is always cool to the touch. The whistling sound came around after the 6th use, it did not make a noise with the first few uses. I intend to use this tea kettle for a while! I will update if anything does appear over the next few uses.

Mr. Coffee Morbern Stainless Steel Whistling Tea Kettle, 1.8-Quart, Red I bought the red one nearly 3 years ago and it served me well, but I made the mistake of putting it into the lower dishwasher rack last night. The color peeled off (user error). I am buying another one to replace it. The whistle part of the original purchase lost a screw and didn't work from the outset, but my old kettle spout part worked and I've been using that. The kettle is a nice size 1.8, qt for personal use for a few servings. The red is vibrant and it looks classy. I hope the new one is the same, but with a working whistler. I've never had interior rust or peeling problems, but I always let it dry on a mostly cooling burner with the lid off. I'll update if the new one has any problems!

Beware made in China product- It is not Stainless Stell. It is made with scrap metal
After a couple weeks I have received this kettle, one day I poured water out from it and found brownish water in my cup. I looked at the bottom of the kettle and saw brown color liquids there. I poured out the liquid and saw rusty masks on it. I cleaned out the rust and saw black spots there. I will not buy any made in China Mr. Coffee product again. They are not honest people. This product is not made with stainless steel. It is made with scrap metals. Once the thin layer of coating material at the bottom is gone then it will rust. It is so disgusting to think I may have drink some of those brownish water without knowing it. It is danger to my health.
