Heat that stays put
Thin steel grills cool off every time you flip a burger. A 24.5 lb cast iron body stores charcoal heat and pushes it back into the grate, so the second steak sears as hard as the first.

Why buy from CurbGo
At a Glance
Thin portable grills lose heat the moment the lid comes off and warp after a season of hot fires. This MegaChef hibachi is the opposite: a heavy oval of pre-seasoned cast iron that soaks up charcoal heat and throws it straight back into the food. Set it on a picnic table, a tailgate or a patio stand, load it with coals and you get deep grill marks on steaks, burgers, skewers and corn for a table of two to six.

Most tabletop grills make you lift the hot grate to add coals. The pull-open front door lets you top up or spread charcoal while dinner keeps cooking right where it is.
Open the bottom vent for a roaring fire to sear, close it partway to slow the burn for chicken or vegetables. Simple airflow control, no knobs or gas lines to manage.
Tabletop size, full charcoal flavor.
Round minis fit a few burgers at once. This oval grate runs 17 in long, so a full row of skewers, steaks for two or a family pack of sausages fits in one round.
Stamped steel heats fast but loses it fast and can rust through in a few seasons. Cast iron holds a steady sear and, with simple oiling, lasts for years.
Propane is quick to light, but it cannot give real charcoal flavor. This hibachi needs no tanks, hoses or batteries, only a bag of charcoal.
A compact grill with real cast iron weight. Check your table and trunk before it arrives.

Common questions that customers ask
Yes, it is built for tabletop cooking. Set it on a sturdy, heat-safe surface such as stone, metal or a grill stand, since the cast iron body and legs get hot.
No. Charcoal gives off carbon monoxide, so use it outdoors only and never in a home, garage, tent, camper or enclosed porch.
Yes. It arrives pre-seasoned and ready to use. Keep the seasoning strong by drying it after cleaning and wiping on a thin coat of oil.
Open the bottom vent for a hotter fire and close it partway to slow the burn. Add coals through the front door to keep a long cook going.
MegaChef rates it for 2 to 6 people. The 17 in oval grate holds a full row of skewers or several burgers at once.
Let it cool, empty the ash, hand wash as needed, dry it completely and re-oil. Store it under cover or indoors between cookouts.

Very nice sturdy grill
Bought this for my sister for her birthday and she absolutely loved it! We grilled three steaks to perfection. Purchased an electric briquette starter…perfect! I also purchased a very sturdy, 60lb maximum weight, camping table to grill on. Otherwise it would have to sit on a picnic table to grill.
Perfect for camping
We tried it out a couple of days ago. It worked exactly as what we needed. We have a cabin up north, and this will be perfect for our grilling walleye.
Heavy Duty - Sturdy
Appears well made and sturdy. Not a cheapy with thin walls that will rust out in a coupe of years. With proper care, this should be a buy-it-once for life item. But it is cast iron - which does rust. So, I plan on leaving it outside during the warmer months but bringing it in for the winter - when it can get a spruce up - oiling or brushing and a coat of high heat paint (on surfaces that food doesn't touch) to keep the rust away.
Great value!
I am quite pleased with the size and construction of this hibachi. UPS might damage it due to its weight (they bent my carry handle) but this should last many years. I showed the cooking surface with a tape measure as well as the hight of the grate from the coals. I used a full Weber chimney which might be a bit too much depending on what your cooking. I am ordering another one for my father-in-law.
