Two pans, one box
Packing a separate skillet and Dutch oven eats storage and camp space. Here the lid flips into a 9.5 inch skillet, so a single set fries the bacon and simmers the stew without a second pan to haul or store.

At a Glance
This is the do-everything cast iron set that goes from your kitchen to the campsite. The 5 quart Dutch oven braises and bakes, and its lid flips over to become a 9.5 inch skillet, so one box covers frying, searing, simmering and slow cooking. Pre-seasoned bare cast iron means high heat and no enamel limits, indoors or over a fire.
What makes it 2-in-1?
The lid flips over to work as a 9.5 inch skillet, so you get a deep Dutch oven and a frying pan in one set.
Is it enameled?
No. This is bare pre-seasoned cast iron, which means it takes high heat with no enamel coating to protect and no temperature ceiling.
Can I use it on induction?
Yes. It works on gas, electric and induction cooktops, and it also handles the oven, the grill and an open campfire.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
No. Cast iron is hand wash only. Dry it right away and wipe on a thin layer of oil to protect the seasoning.
Do I have to season it before first use?
It arrives pre-seasoned so you can cook right away, though re-oiling after washing keeps the seasoning building over time.
What comes in the box?
The 5 quart Dutch oven, the 9.5 inch skillet lid, two silicone pot holders and two pan scrapers.
MegaChef makes rugged, versatile cookware that works as hard as you do. This pre-seasoned 2-in-1 cast iron set brings true high-heat searing and open-fire cooking into one box, from a weeknight braise to a campfire skillet, and the seasoning only gets better the more you cook.

Enameled pots cap out and cannot handle a hard sear or the coals. This bare pre-seasoned iron has no coating to protect, so it takes searing heat, the grill and an open campfire without worry.
Non-stick coatings wear out and get tossed. Cast iron does the opposite. Every time you cook and re-oil it, the seasoning deepens into a smoother, more naturally non-stick surface that can last for decades.
One heavy set that cooks in more places than any coated pan.
A coated Dutch oven stays in the kitchen and needs a separate skillet. This bare iron set flips its lid into a frying pan and goes from an induction range to the grill to an open campfire.
Enameled and non-stick pans cap out at a safe temperature. Bare pre-seasoned cast iron has no coating to damage, so it takes a hard sear and open flame that would ruin a coated pot.
Non-stick surfaces wear out and get replaced. Cast iron improves with use. Regular cooking and re-oiling build a seasoning that can last for generations rather than a few years.

Great quality.
Due to the price I was skeptical of the quality. Once it arrived, I quickly discovered it was indeed thick cast iron by accidentally dropping the lid on my big toe. After much blood loss, minus a toe nail, and walking gingerly for two weeks, I now have an excellent dutch oven to bake my sourdough bread in. I highly recommend this product, just be careful removing it from its packaging.
Live the cast iron
I love that's it's cast iron can't wait to use it for my sourdough loafs and stews
Exactly as expected
Perfect for my sourdough baking Much better than a standard dutch oven for backing And with versatility of regular Dutch oven Can ask for no more
Great versatility
I have Le Cruset dutch ovens and found that there are two things that really beat them up and make them look haggard: bread making and frying. To remedy, I bought the Lodge version of this for my bread making and it worked fine for bread, but the 'dome' part was too shallow to fry in. I returned it and got this one. Dome is much larger on this one and I can use it for both bread making and frying, and saved some money to boot. One complaint I have is the two small handles don't make it easy to operate, the longer handle versions like the Lodge are much, much easier to use. It came with two silicone pieces that you can use as pot holders on the handles when they are hot, but if you're pre-heating the thing for bread at 500 degrees those holders are useless, its way too hot to use them.
These pans are amazing.
We are using them at our camp sites over the open flames. They are amazing.
