Round slow cookers force casseroles into a mound; this one gives them the shape they were written for. The MegaChef MGSL-5000-C spreads 3.5 quarts across a shallow rectangular stoneware crock, so lasagna layers lie flat, queso stays stirrable edge to edge, and breakfast bakes cook evenly. When it is time to leave the house, latch the glass lid, grab the carry handles, and plug back in on Warm when you arrive.
Casserole slow cooker base, removable stoneware crock, latching tempered glass lid.
Is the crock removable?
Yes. The stoneware crock lifts out of the base and is oven-safe up to 350°F, so you can finish or reheat dishes in the oven.
Is it dishwasher safe?
The stoneware crock and tempered glass lid are dishwasher safe. The heating base wipes clean; never immerse it in water.
Does it have a timer?
No. The manual dial has High, Low, and Warm and stays where you set it, so switch to Warm yourself when cooking is done.
What are the temperature settings?
High cooks at 190-212°F, Low at 170-190°F, and Warm holds food at a serve-ready 145-165°F.
Can I make deep stews or roasts in it?
The 3-inch-deep casserole crock is designed for flat, layered dishes like lasagna, dips, and bakes. Use a deep round slow cooker for stews, whole chickens, and roasts.
Set the base on a dry, heat-safe surface with clearance on all sides; the exterior and underside get very hot during cooking. Cook on High or Low, then turn the dial to Warm to hold food at serving temperature. For transport, latch both hooks over the lid and carry by the handles. Let the crock cool before moving it to cold water to protect the stoneware. Crock and lid go in the dishwasher; wipe the base with a damp cloth once cool and unplugged, and never immerse it.
MegaChef designs kitchen gear around how people actually cook and gather: casserole cookers that travel, kettles that pour all morning, cast iron that goes to the table. The brand pairs sturdy stoneware, tempered glass, and metal builds with straightforward manual controls, has its appliances ETL tested, and stands behind them with a published 90-day limited warranty.

One hard brake can turn a back seat into a marinara scene. The latch-and-hook lid system clamps the tempered glass lid tight, and carry handles keep the 12.6-pound cooker steady door to door.
Casseroles usually mean one dish to bake, another to serve, a third to store. The removable stoneware crock goes from this base into a 350°F oven, straight to the table, then into the dishwasher.
The numbers behind a true travel slow cooker.
A deep round crock stacks lasagna noodles into a mound. This shallow 11.5 by 19.5 inch casserole shape lays them flat, so layered bakes, dips, and cobblers cook evenly edge to edge.
Foil-covered dishes arrive at potlucks lukewarm and sloshed. The latch-and-hook lid locks down for the drive, and the Warm setting holds 145-165°F once you plug in at the party.
Multicookers ask you to navigate menus for what a dial does better. Three settings, High, Low, and Warm, cover slow-baked mains and party holding without a single button combo to memorize.

Different but likeable
Great size. I like the visual. Can see meats and veggies cooking. Even cooking.
Size perfect for casseroles
Just received this last week and have used it twice already. Once for a pork sausage, diced potatoes and egg dish. Turned it on low just before bed and turned it on warm after 7 1/2 hours. Had it 2 hours later... perfect! Next a Chili casserole. Turned it on high for 6 hours, warm for 2 1/2 hours. Again... perfect! Delivery was also 2 days faster than quoted.
