Morning green juice and fresh citrus, pressed slowly and calmly at home

At a Glance

  • 150-watt motor: a low-speed press for fruit, vegetables and leafy greens
  • Reverse function: backs the auger up to free trapped pulp
  • Juice cup and pulp cup: juice and pulp collect in separate containers
  • Dishwasher-safe parts: the removable juicing parts go in the dishwasher
  • 12.2 x 6 in footprint: a slim profile that leaves counter space free

Fast spinning juicers shred produce and leave foamy, separated juice. This MegaChef masticating juicer works differently: a 150-watt motor turns a slow auger that crushes and presses fruit, vegetables and leafy greens, so you can blend kale and celery into your apple or orange juice. When fibrous pulp jams, the reverse function backs the auger up to clear it. Juice and pulp drop into separate cups, the removable parts go in the dishwasher, and anti-slip feet keep the slim stainless steel unit planted on the counter.

Key Features

  • Slow masticating press: crushes produce instead of slicing it at high speed, the method known as cold pressing.
  • Handles leafy greens: kale, spinach and herbs press alongside apples, carrots and citrus.
  • Reverse to clear jams: one setting runs the auger backward to loosen fibrous pulp mid-batch.
  • Separate juice and pulp cups: juice flows into one container while pulp collects in another.
  • Tool-free cleanup: the juicer comes apart by hand and the removable parts are dishwasher safe.
  • Anti-slip feet: rubber feet hold the stainless steel base steady while it presses.

What's Included

In the box: the slow juicer, one juice cup, one pulp cup, one push stick and the user manual.

Before You Buy

  • Cut large produce before feeding it. The feed chute is not a wide mouth, so apples, pears and oranges need to be cut into pieces first.
  • It presses slowly by design. A masticating juicer takes longer per glass than a high-speed spinning juicer, in exchange for denser juice and drier pulp.
  • Keep the motor base out of water. Only the removable juicing parts are dishwasher safe. Wipe the base with a damp cloth.

Perfect For

  • Green juice with kale, spinach, celery and cucumber
  • Fresh orange juice and lemonade
  • Ginger shots and carrot apple blends
  • Home cooks moving up from a centrifugal juicer

Care & Use

  • Rinse the auger, screen and cups right after juicing so pulp does not dry on.
  • Wash the removable parts in the dishwasher or by hand with warm soapy water.
  • Unplug the juicer and wipe the motor base with a damp cloth only.
  • Let every part dry fully before reassembling and storing.
  • California Prop 65 warning: this product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and/or reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Why a slow juicer is worth the wait

Greens finally work

High-speed juicers fling leafy greens out with the pulp. A slow auger presses kale, spinach and celery properly, so a green juice tastes like the vegetables you put in rather than mostly apple.

Jams clear in seconds

Stringy celery and ginger can wrap around an auger. Switch to reverse and it backs the pulp out, then carry on pressing without taking the whole juicer apart in the middle of a batch.

Cleanup that fits a morning

The juicer comes apart by hand, the removable parts go in the dishwasher, and juice and pulp land in separate cups. Rinse right after pressing and you are done before breakfast.

How does a masticating juicer compare?

vs. a centrifugal juicer

Fast spinning blades struggle with greens and leave foam. A slow auger presses them and gives smoother, denser juice.

vs. a blender smoothie

A blender keeps all the fiber in a thick drink. The juicer separates pulp for a light, drinkable juice.

vs. bottled store juice

Bottled juice is often pasteurized and blended for shelf life. Pressing at home gives a fresh glass made from produce you chose.

FAQs

Common questions that customers ask

Can it juice leafy greens like kale and spinach?

Yes. The slow masticating press handles leafy greens and mixes them with fruit and vegetables.

Do I need to peel fruit first?

Skins can stay on, and the juicer separates them into the pulp cup. Cut larger fruit such as apples and oranges into pieces so they fit the feed chute.

What does the reverse function do?

It runs the auger backward to loosen pulp that has jammed, so you can keep juicing without taking the machine apart.

Are the parts dishwasher safe?

Yes. The removable juicing parts are dishwasher safe. Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth and never submerge it.

How fast will it ship and can I return it?

Orders ship to the 48 contiguous states and process within 2 business days. If it is not right, you have 30 days from delivery to return unused items in the original packaging.

Great Value, Tough to Clean, Odd Design

The juicer certainly does what it’s designed to do and the motor seems reasonably reliable. I would recommend it as a low-cost option for anyone looking to try juicing at any frequency less than daily. If you anticipating using the machine one or more times each day, cleaning the metal straining component that often will be an unpleasant experience. In terms of design, there are a couple of small changes that would improve general functionally by allowing you to store all of components without taking up such a large footprint on the countertop. Two things that seem like no-brainers: (1) add a holder on the side of the machine for conveniently storing the cleaning brush and (2) slightly shrink the cup that collects food waste so that you can store the collection cup and waste cup nested inside each other on the machine’s flat surface under the dispenser.

CurbGo hunts for the well-made version of everyday things and skips the markup. MegaChef designs kitchen appliances out of Santa Clarita, California, built around simple controls and easy cleanup. This slow juicer follows the same idea: a steady 150-watt press, a reverse button for jams, and parts that come apart by hand and go in the dishwasher.
