Clean, bright styling that keeps a light room cozy all winter
At a Glance
- Crisp white finish: matches light desks, bedrooms, and nurseries
- Two heat levels: 900 W low and 1500 W high
- Fan setting: air circulation with no heat
- Ceramic element: quick warm-up behind the grille
- Easy to move: 2.8 lb with a top handle
Not every room wants a black appliance in the corner. The BLACK+DECKER BHDC500W puts the same ceramic heating as its black twin into a clean white case that blends with white desks, light bedrooms, and bright home offices. Choose 900 watts on low or 1500 watts on high and set the thermostat to the warmth you like. The fan-only mode keeps air moving in summer, and the built-in handle lets you carry it from a morning desk to an evening reading chair.
Key Features
- White case for light rooms: sits quietly on white or light-wood furniture instead of standing out.
- 900 W and 1500 W heat: a sturdy low setting plus full output for frosty mornings.
- Ceramic element with fan: warms up in minutes and pushes heat toward you.
- Thermostat dial: pick a comfort level and the heater cycles to keep it.
- Fan-only setting: circulates air without heat once the weather turns.
- Automatic safety shutoffs: overheat protection and tip-over shutoff, plus a power-on indicator light.
What's Included
In the box: one BLACK+DECKER BHDC500W46 desktop ceramic heater in white and the owner's manual.
Before You Buy
- You are buying the white BHDC500W; the black BHDC500B is the same heater. Performance is identical, 900 W low, 1500 W high, and fan only, so choose the color that suits the room.
- Give it its own wall outlet. Never run it through an extension cord or relocatable power tap, and keep it out of bathrooms and laundry rooms.
- Heat goes forward to the person nearby. It is made for a desk, bedside, or small room; it will not heat a large open living space.
Perfect For
- White or light-wood home office desks
- Bright bedrooms and guest rooms
- Sunrooms and reading corners
- Craft and sewing rooms with light decor
Care & Use
- Turn it off, unplug, and let it cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the white case with a soft, damp cloth to keep it bright; never use solvents or abrasives.
- Leave 3 feet open in front, with nothing against the sides or back.
- Do not use it outdoors, and never leave it on unattended.

Why the white version works
Real heat on low
With 900 watts on its low setting, this heater keeps a small room comfortable without going straight to high. Save the 1500 watt setting for the coldest mornings of the season.
From desk to bedside
At 2.8 pounds with a handle on top, it follows you from a morning at the desk to an evening with a book. The fan-only setting keeps it useful once spring arrives.
What the BHDC500W delivers

Light enough to carry
Is the BHDC500W right for your room?
vs. the black version
Identical heating and safety features. Choose white for light decor; choose black for dark desks and electronics.
vs. a bulky floor heater
Floor heaters take up walking space. This one sits on a desk or nightstand at 7.5 by 6.3 inches.
vs. a heater with only one setting
Single-setting heaters run hot or not at all. Low, high, and fan settings let you match the weather.

- 7.5 in W x 6.3 in D x 9.5 in H

Poorly made, very low quality
Disappointed and feel 100 percent ripped off. Does not work because the safety stopper plunger mechanism is too short. You have to rig it by putting something under it to get it turn on. I read a review where the person used a bottle cap. I used a stack of quarters. This is so UNSAFE. It heats ok if you can get it to turn on. Looks and feels cheap and poorly made. This is NOT a quality product.
