Goodbye and goodnight
Got the white one. Perfect if you’re not in a rush

Took 15 days to arrive in a beat up box probably from being shipped in only an outer paper bag. There was a slight silicone odor at first but quickly dissipated to acceptable after rinsing. It took 5 minutes 30 seconds for a full 110v pot (3.5 cups) of chilled filtered water to boil at 200ft above sea level and automatically turns off when it reaches boiling. There is a release for the handle so it stays open and rigid when you want but easily closes. Others I saw had handles that didn’t close and were too close to the hot silicone body and I wanted something more compact but safe. The lid has a spring-loaded catch so it won’t accidentally fly open, but isn’t hermetically sealed because of the spout, which means pressure can escape. After use it cooled off fast and took a bit of work to collapse the silicone body but not too hard. The max and min lines are hard to read but you can easily feel them. The chord is 28 inches long. I read that someone didn’t find the setting for 220v but it is there labeled on the bottom if I ever need it. This will be perfect for adventure meals, oatmeal, coffee or midnight tea on a train, hotel or RV. Coach and observation cars on Amtrak have big beautiful outlets near each seat. If you read their rules they say something about “plug in appliances” but I have never seen any conductor say anything when I have used other kettles. You could get a cup of hot water if there is an open snack car, but don’t count on it. I’m loving train travel right now, and this makes it even better. Other kettles I’ve used were too big and started glitching when I tried to set temps so now I prefer something simpler and more portable. Way back when I used to use a “sting” to heat water right in the cup but the naked element seems too dangerous, even when I now can use a silicone carrying sleeve. It’s the smallest option except for spirit and backpacking stoves which are a whole other subject. When at home for maintenance, if any calcium collects over time from water, I plan to boil 3.5 cups of water with 1/4 cup of vinegar then rinse. After carefully searching for the best pot at the best price this fills all my travel needs and doesn’t seem flimsy. I’ll update if anything changes.

Great for Limited Storage Space

I've had this for a couple years now. It's still working great. I use it when camping in a pop-up camper. Storage is limited, so it's great that this thing is collapsible. Sure, it's slower at boiling water than the electric kettle at home. The tradeoff in compactness and packability is worth it.

Perfect for my camper van.

In my Class B RV, there's not a lot of storage space. Every inch counts. This 0.8 liter kettle is wonderful. It boils water quickly. It's very sturdy. And the best feature, of course, is that it collapses into half the usual space. It's a keeper.

The only complaint I have is that I wish the power cable was removable, making it a more portable product while being easier to clean.

In my 5th year of living without a home nomadic

It's honestly a pain traveling outside Asia, heck I even stayed in a room in Indonesia that somehow didn't have a kettle. It's amazing to realize just 3 months ago I was staying in a 120-150 euro/night hotels in Germany and since they don't offer kettles i bought a 30 euro one nearby and then abandoned it on check-out. I've done this a lot. Now I don't have to!! Thing is ABSOLUTELY genius. Some reviews complained about the build quality, but so far to me (3 weeks in) it seems stellar. If it lasts 2 years (only), I'll grab another without hesitation.

Handy for travel

Ordered this for a trip to a 4 star hotel. It has been our experience that the higher graded hotels give you a Keurig in the room (my husband is a tea drinker) or think that you will just get a pot of tea from room service (very pricey). This little kettle was just the ticket! The kettle heated water quickly and he was able to get about a 12 oz mug full for his tea. We brought along some tea bags and he was good to go! It didn't take up too much space in our luggage. Cleaning wasn't an issue as we only used it for water. I don't think it would be a good idea heating anything but water in it because it does come to a boil. Cleaning might become an issue then as well. It works well for what it is designed to do: boil water.

Perfect for travel

I bought this to take on trips where we'd be staying in budget hotels (with questionable or non existent coffee makers). This packs down small and is quick and easy to use. We use this with a pour over coffee dripper for good coffee to avoid a trip to a coffee shop! Unlike other reviewers, I didn't notice any bad odor or flavor - I followed the instructions and boiled water a couple of times before actually using it.

Great kettle for a camper van

Bought this kettle for use in my camper van and it does everything needed. Collapses down for stowage, rugged enough to survive bumpy roads, expands and holds enough water for a full pot of tea. Measured the power and it averaged about 792 watts; about 62 amps in my system (nominal 12.6VDC - 2000W PSW inverter). It takes almost exactly 6 minutes, or about 6.2 Ah to boil the full kettle. Faster and easier that using a propane or butane stove, and no fumes in a small camper. Fill it up, plug it in, continue fixing other stuff and when the auto shut-off trips....make the tea. No waiting and watching, and no boiling over. Set it aside to cool off, have breakfast, then collapse the kettle and stow it. Easy. I started by boiling a few kettles of water with a little white vinegar to get rid of any taste and now it's clean and clear. Haven't had it long enough to evaluate long term reliability, but for the price it's a great buy.

Very happy with product but could use some small improvements

Very happy with product! I wish it was slightly lighter in weight and came with its own travel bag. I find myself brining an insulated lunch box to put the device into once done with it. It cools down quickly but not fast enough to immediately pack back up. Buying hot chocolate at the mountain resorts adds up in cost quickly. Bought this to bring to boil water for hot chocolate, oatmeal, cup of noodles, and other stuff at the ski resorts instead of paying their marked up prices. Wish the cord was longer as many outlets we find to use are far away. The 0.5L line is clearly labeled (between min and max fill) which will get you a little less than two cups of water after boiled.

Great Travel Kettle

Lightweight, small and speedy, this collapsable travel kettle was a great companion on my recent month-long road trip! I love tea but I hate the taste of stale coffee oil that persists on anything that has ever contained coffee -- like those coffee makers in hotel rooms. With this tea kettle, I could have a tasty cup of tea every morning. I also found it useful when we were in campgrounds. I took it to the bath house and boiled water while I was brushing my teeth in the morning. That way I had tea and could also cook up some instant oatmeal. (Other folks in the campground asked me where they could get one!) I really appreciated that the kettle automatically turns off when the water comes to a boil. My only complaint is that if you're not very careful when you pour the boiled water into your cup, it is easy to scald yourself. This kettle held enough water for two mugs of tea.

great little kettle to have for travel

Haven't traveled since before Covid, so I wasn't sure what to expect the hotels to have for breakfasts or beverages. I need to start my day with a cup of tea, or two, and wanted to make sure I was able to do so. This was so handy to have in the hotel rooms. Used it for tea for myself, and even for water for instant oatmeal one of the days we didn't have breakfast availlable. What a blessing!! I knew it was clean, and I knew it would be hot enough to make tea and instant oatmeal. Folds nice and compatly for easy packing. The cord is short, it does get hot, so be sure and use caution if you have little ones anywhere near this!! Happy with this. It does what it says it does!
