• It is NOT dishwasher safe: It is wipe-clean only. This is a corded appliance with the element sealed in the plate - it cannot be immersed, and it cannot go in the dishwasher. If you want to put a griddle plate in the dishwasher, this is the wrong griddle.
• No drip tray or grease channel: There is no grease well on this griddle. Cooking bacon means the fat stays on the plate and you deal with it. If a drip tray is important to you, Brentwood's TS-819 and TS-840 griddles have them - this one does not.
• The dial is unnumbered - warm to searing: The heat is fully adjustable, but the control is a warm-to-searing dial rather than a numbered °F thermostat. You set it by feel and by the indicator light, not by dialling in 375°F.
• California AB 1200: contains aluminum: This griddle contains intentionally added aluminum, per Brentwood's chemical disclosure. The body is die-cast aluminum, which is exactly why.
