Perfect!

At first I thought it was not going to work as a screw was missing and the other 3 screws which holds the face of the clock, have broken off. So now the left over screws would not fit. I got some new screws and that fixed the issue. The clock look very elegant. The sound is loud and clear. Packaging is not appropriate for this clock. The manufacturer needs to rethink the way they pack these clocks. You can't go wrong for the price.

It's in the right place now

This clock is a little more stark than some of their others. At first I didn't like. The place I had imaged to put it just didn't feel right as much time as I spent pondering it. I moved it around the house a bit and finally found the perfect place over an antique desk. Not too big, not too small.

Does not chime after 9 p.m. and before 6 a.m.

The clock is attractive and the sound quality of the chimes is nice, but I was not aware that there is apparently no way to override it from going silent after 9 p.m. and before 6 a.m. I understand why that would be a desirable feature for most people, but my mother for whom this was a gift actually likes to hear it during the night to know the time if she happens to wake up. That would have made a difference in my purchase of this product if I had known it.

Beautiful, well-built, and priced right...

We needed to replace an older, similar clock that has to fit in a narrow space. This was our choice, and we're very happy with the selection. The clock is classically beautiful; and the battery-operated clock, chime, and pendulum movement are a real help to me since my arthritic fingers made winding the old unit's spring mechanism very uncomfortable.

THIS CLOCK PLAYS 8-BIT CHIME

When my 90s clock broke, I looked out here for a replacement. However most clocks like this being sold today are equipped with a realistic sounding chime, which actually sounds like a cheesy tape recording of real chime rods. I did a LOT of digging and finally picked this clock up and I found it to be like my 90s clock, it played 8-bit Westminster.
